Holistic Health Assessment & Treatment

If you are in search of pain relief and/or rehabilitation, a holistic healing approach may provide the answers. As a Holistic Healing Practitioner the first session with Stefan will include a holistic assessment including:

  • Posture and gait
  • Functional movements and activities
  • Balance and co-ordination
  • Specific Yoga asanas (postures)
  • Active and passive joint range of motion
  • Muscle strength, tone, control and stability
  • Muscle flexibility
  • Soft tissue integrity
  • Breathing capacity
  • Exercise tolerance
  • The integrity and mobility of the nervous system

From this Stefan will then be able to explain which of the following tools he feels will be necessary for subsequent sessions:

  • Holistic exercise prescription
  • Functional holistic rehabilitation
  • Soft tissue techniques including therapeutic massage, trigger point release, deep tissue transverse frictions, myofascial release and muscle energy techniques
  • Joint mobilisations (with movement also)
  • Holistic education, advice and support

A Yogic approach is one in which any exercise, being physical or mental, is done with complete focus and concentration and hence the cultivation of such mental power is essential.

All the holistic advice and exercises provided will be directly linked to your individual goals, be they physical, mental and/or emotional, and will also be in line with your capacity. Stefan will only recommend as much hands on work as he feels is required and then strongly encourages each client to then take charge on their progress through carrying out a recommended regular holistic practice that will be catered to work alongside the other ever present responsibilities in life.

In order to achieve this, one must be prepared to undergo a gradual and progressive approach, allowing for real changes to occur at the roots of any problems, as opposed to providing only fast and temporary changes to the current presentation. Goals will be continually changed as progress is made, until you feel that you can then confidently maintain your results and adapt for progress independently. It is also important to emphasise that although Stefan’s full support is given to each and every client each step of the way, the real work must be done by you.
